Wondering what Fanaberia means?

In Polish, ¨fanaberia¨ translates to a whim, quirk, something unnecessary or indulgent, and yet, I’ve always been fascinated by the question: who is really there to judge what counts as a true need and what is just a whim?

When it comes to the magical aspects of life, working with plants, spells, oils, and rituals, many would say it’s fanaberia, something whimsical, not essential.

And still, for me, these practices are deeply necessary. They are ways of remembering, of connecting, of cleansing and transforming. A true alchemy of being and experiencing life. In that sense, the name purposely plays with contradiction: what seems like a whim from the outside becomes a source of grounding, healing, and truth.

I also chose the name Fanaberia Alchemy as a way of weaving my Polish roots into this space. Fanaberia has always been one of my favorite words.

Even the birth of this space carries that paradox—it began as a sudden spark, a whim of inspiration, but quickly revealed itself as a calling, a necessity.

Fanaberia Alchemy is where those contradictions meet and transform, where the whimsical and the essential merge into something sacred.
